Part of the Geordie diaspora, a professional grumpy old git living in rural idyllic splendour in East Anglia.  Many careers starting in Construction then Military then  teaching and training and then urban redevelopment in its broadest sense.  Interests in life include politics, Newcastle United, most sport, sci fi novels especially the old and great like Asimov, Heinlein and Clarke.  Keeper of a black cocker spaniel who is known variously as the Bedlington Gigolo, Rifleman Robson of the DLI and Dog Spot and a sneaky Border terrier called Oliphant.  The opinions expressed here are my own and I enjoy giving them.  Feedback is appreciated but make sure its constructive – I welcome debate but not cynicism.  I now have time to watch the world go by and make comment on some of it.
